Sometimes a disability can feel like a barrier blocking the path to dreams. At Looking Upwards, we listen to dreams and support people to move towards what they want out of life.

Founded in 1978, Looking Upwards is a private, nonprofit agency offering a wide array of services to adults with developmental disabilities and children with diverse needs.

Our programs have one overall goal, to support people in leading rich and satisfying lives.

From birth through adulthood, our services are tailored to each individual’s needs. We promote growth and independence and assist with developing satisfaction in all areas of life, such as:

• Meaningful Work

At Looking Upwards, we understand the importance of community. For all people, enjoying and enriching their community enhances the quality of life. The Aquidneck Island Arts Festival was created in the spirit of contributing to our community while raising funds for our mission of supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
