Artist Statement : “The spontaneity and inherent risk of free-hand turning wooden bowls is seductive.  The many challenges ingrained in the process of transforming a natural material, in its rawest form, into something beautiful and useful is a pursuit I find worthy and compelling.

With every bowl I turn I seek a visual 'Golden Mean'.  Whether the bowl design is simple with clean flowing lines or more expressive and decorative, my goal is to form a unified aesthetically pleasing form.  Ideally the bowl will not only be pleasing to the eye but also feel balanced in the hand.”
