| Artist Statement: “My art is hand carved stone sculpture named after my Zimbabwean tribe “Shona.” Shona art is an imagery expression of my tribe’s cultural belief that man and nature can embrace and share a common bond. I manly use serpentine stone which is about 2 points harder than soapstone on the MOH’s scale of hardness. My tools include chisels, files and sandpaper. I finally polish the sculpture with heat and bees wax and “boom” the sculpture is ready for a new home.” |
