Artist Statement : “I like to surf, sail and dive so this body of work emulates those activities and allows me to explore them in a mix of media.  I hammer out all the steel and then one by one form and fit them into the shapes of fish and sails.  I have always loved glass and have used it in my work for over 28 years.  The glass is slumped over and into the steel frames as to take on the shapes and contours of the steel.  I apply acrylic paint on the back with an airbrush and other painting tools in a technique known as reverse painting on glass.  The unique forms I create, along with the reverse painting on a transparent material like glass, really excites me to be creative and expressive with my art.”
