| Artist Statement: "A native of Finland, Tarja Cockell worked as a weaving teacher after graduating from textile and design. In her current work she explores mixed textile mediums creating her contemporary wall art pieces. Her color palette consists of dyes, paints, oil sticks and stitches. Themes vary from still life and nature to abstract coloration. Her images are simplified just bringing out the essence of the forms leaving space for the imagination." |
